I don't dress well. My favorite outfit is my "Rip Zone" hoodie (I have no idea when or where I got it), a pair of Levi jeans from Zellers, and a pair of discount runners (dicounted because they were ugly and no body bought them). Rich people are safer. At least they were in 1990. At $50,000 the 300E was no bargain back then but you were getting a lot of engineering for your money. ABS, Airbags (neither which work on this particular car), side impact beams, crumple zones front and back, and more importantly unflappability. When I was a kid I had a collection of matchbox cars. When I got too old I had to give it away but I kept a few of my favorites. One of these was a Mercedes-Benz 300E. So when looking on Craigslist for a winter beater I came across a "300s" with photos of a 300E and a low price, I had to check it out. Before I could transfer the insurance from the wounded Miata back to the non wounded Infiniti I had to go to work, so with no car I had to take the bus. Well the Miata had it's brakes done; new pads all around, new rotors on the front, and a new caliper at the right rear, and a new battery, so it was time for a short road trip to Bowen Island where my good friend was having his birthday celebration. On Wednesday I went and picked up the wiper control arm for my Infiniti. It was right where they said it would be and cost only $22. The fix took about 2 minutes of snapping the joints to the motor and pivots and then voila the wipers work again. I wonder how much this repair would have been if I chose to pay for the labour. The last two days I've been continuing doing the maintenance that the previous owner didn't do. Yesterday I installed new spark plugs and new ignition wires. Today I checked and adjusted the timing, I advanced it by four degrees making the car a bit more spunky (I think; it's hard to tell) and I had a fuel injection treatment done to clean the injectors. I fixed it. I found a new fan at the auto wrecker and using instructions from the web I took out the old fan and put the new one in. Here's a pic of the old fan. Those cars at the wrecker sure were destroyed. Best not to get into an accident in one of these.

I finally found the cause of the Miata's overheating. First I replaced the thermostat like me pa recommended. It was an easy affair; two bolts, gasket scraping, old one goes out, new one goes in, new gasket, two bolts and done. Unfortunately, the car overheated again when I took it out for a test drive. While the trunk of the Miata may not be the best for moving anything larger than a breadbox, the passenger seat is just fine. About 2 weeks ago I bought a 1990 Mazda Miata. I love driving and I've always wanted a true sports car. I wanted something cheap and not too fancy. I also considered a Porsche 944 and a Mazda RX-7 but went with the Miata for it's simplicity and reliability. I found one at the BC trade-in centre that had all the right features. It's in good mechanical shape and the body is in ok shape for a 17
